Choosing a fine or silk rug
- Fine knotting and silk are different characteristics. This collection is not exclusively pure silk: check the recorded composition on each rug page and ask us when it is not available.
- Look at close-up photographs as well as the full design. Fine drawing can reward a closer view, while silk's sheen and the pile direction can change the appearance of colour as you move around the rug.
- Describe the room and expected foot traffic when you enquire. The suitability and care of a rug depend on its actual composition and condition, not just the collection name.
- Bring your measurements and the rug numbers you like. Seeing a shortlisted piece unrolled helps you judge its scale, colour and detail before deciding.
