Contemporary colour and simpler, larger-scale drawing. A good starting point for a modern room or when the rug should sit quietly under furniture.
Pieces without a knotted pile: flat-woven kilims, Aubusson-style carpets and wall tapestries. Lighter and thinner than a knotted rug.
Choosing a rug
Which collection suits you?
Knotted pile or flatweave. A hand-knotted rug has a pile and more weight underfoot. A kilim or flatweave is thinner and lighter, easy to move and often used in layered rooms.
Persian origin and Persian-inspired design are not the same. This collection includes rugs recorded as originating in Persia alongside Persian-inspired designs with other recorded origins. Check the origin on an individual rug page where it is available, or ask the showroom when it is absent. Browse the Persian collection to compare the recorded details.
Silk and fine knotting. Fine and silk rugs show more detail and sheen, and suit rooms with lighter foot traffic. Wool pile is the hard-wearing choice for everyday rooms; you can filter by wool pile.
Modern or traditional. Modern rugs bring contemporary drawing and colour; antiques are one-off older pieces, best seen in person.
